About Kotoh Home

Kotoh Home installs and looks after private AI home assistants: a dedicated computer in your home that runs the AI, connects to your devices, calendars and email, and answers your texts.

Why we started Kotoh Home

Most smart-home assistants send what you say to a large company's servers, handle one command at a time, and leave you juggling separate apps for every device. We think a home assistant should live in the home it serves, remember how your household works, and belong to you. The technology to do that, capable AI models that run on a single computer, is now practical. Setting it up well is not, which is where we come in.

Who we are

Kotoh Home is a service of Kotoh Labs LLC, a small U.S. software and web firm founded by Ian Schechter. Ian has spent his career building and running software platforms, including a national telehealth platform built to HIPAA requirements, so privacy, security and keeping systems running are where he starts, not an afterthought. He splits his time between Shelter Island and Miami, the two areas Kotoh Home serves.

How we work

  • You own everything. The AI computer, the accounts and the configuration are in your name. You can unplug it, or have someone else maintain it, at any time.
  • Fixed prices. Packages are priced up front after a free walk-through. See pricing.
  • One person to call. You deal directly with us, from the first visit to ongoing care.
  • Privacy by default. Locks and alarms ask before acting, smart devices go on their own network, and we never sell or share your data.
