Private AI Home Assistant Setup in Dallas–Fort Worth
Kotoh Home sets up private AI home assistants across Dallas–Fort Worth remotely. North Texas homes have to handle both extremes, deep freezes and triple-digit heat, and the setup is planned around both.
Two extremes in one year
In February 2021, Winter Storm Uri drove Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to −2°F on February 16, the coldest reading in North Texas in 72 years. More than 4.5 million Texas homes and businesses lost power, some for several days, and water service was disrupted for more than 12 million people as pipes froze and burst. Six months later, the same houses are dealing with summer: average highs near 96°F, with days over 100°F every year.
Storms add a third risk. On the night of October 20, 2019, an EF3 tornado tracked about 16 miles through North Dallas and Richardson, and more than 175,000 customers lost power.
What we set up for North Texas homes
- Freeze alerts. Sensors in exterior-wall rooms, attics and near pipes, with a text before temperatures reach the danger zone.
- Heat alerts. The same sensors work in summer: if the AC can't keep up or stops, you hear about it while there's still time to call for service.
- Leaks and shutoff. Water sensors under sinks and by the water heater, and an automatic shutoff valve if you add one.
- Outages. An alert when grid power drops, generator status if you have one, and a check-in when power returns.
- Storm routine. A routine you approve in advance: close the garage, bring the house to a safe temperature, and text everyone where things stand.
Remote setup in Dallas–Fort Worth
Most DFW homes already have Wi-Fi thermostats and a few smart devices. After a video walk-through, we ship a hub configured for your house, you plug it into your router, and we connect what you have on a call. A battery backup for the hub and router is worth adding here, so the rules keep running when the power flickers. New devices that need a licensed tradesperson are installed by yours to our spec, or as a travel install we quote.
After the storm
The days after a freeze or a tornado are when good information matters most. When power returns, the assistant can send a short report: how cold the house got and for how long, whether any leak sensor tripped, whether the water heater and HVAC are running again, and which doors are open. If you're away, that report tells you whether to send someone over now or wait.
Prices
Private Cloud starts at $4,995, with a $199-a-month care plan that includes your private AI server. That is the tier we set up remotely. Private Home, with a dedicated AI computer in your house that works fully offline, starts at $24,995 with care at $399 a month; in Dallas–Fort Worth it is a travel install, and travel is quoted with the project at cost. Estate projects are quoted individually. Smart devices are extra. The full breakdown is in our cost guide.
Your data
The hub runs in your house. With Private Cloud, the assistant uses an open-source model on a private server we run for you in a U.S. data center, with no conversation logs and no training on your data. See network and security for how we separate smart devices from your computers.

Common questions
Would this have helped during the February 2021 storm?
It can't keep the grid up, but it changes what you know. The hub keeps running your rules during an internet outage, and with an optional cellular backup and battery power for the hub, it can text you when the power drops, when rooms get dangerously cold, and when a leak sensor trips.
Can it warn me if the AC fails in summer?
Yes. With a connected thermostat or temperature sensors, the assistant texts you when the house climbs above a temperature you set, which matters for pets and for a house that sits empty.
Do you install in person in Dallas or Fort Worth?
Private Cloud is set up remotely: we ship a configured hub and connect everything over video. Private Home and Estate projects in the area are travel installs, quoted with the project.
What does it cost?
Private Cloud starts at $4,995 plus a $199-a-month care plan that includes your private AI server. Private Home starts at $24,995 with care at $399 a month, plus travel. Estate is quoted individually.
