Smart Home and Private AI Installation in Naples, Florida
Kotoh Home installs private AI home assistants and smart home systems in Naples, Florida, set up for Gulf Coast hurricanes, storm surge and the months you spend somewhere else.
Three major hurricanes in under twenty years
Naples sits on the Gulf of Mexico in Collier County, a city of about 19,000 people at the 2020 census and a long-time favorite of retirees. It has also been in the path of three major hurricanes in less than two decades. Wilma came ashore near Cape Romano, south of Naples, in 2005. Irma made landfall near Marco Island in 2017. And in 2022, Hurricane Ian brought a storm surge of 10 to 15 feet to parts of Southwest Florida, causing an estimated $989 million in damage in the city of Naples and about $2.2 billion to buildings across Collier County.
Ian's lesson for homeowners was about water, not just wind. A house can come through a storm standing and still be flooded inside, and if you're away, you may not know for days.
What we set up for Naples homes
- Water sensors where flooding starts. On the lowest floor, by the water heater, under sinks and near the AC air handler, with an optional shutoff valve on the main for leaks from inside.
- A storm routine approved in advance and run with one text: thermostat to a safe setting, motorized shades and shutters closed, doors locked, plus a list of anything that has to be done by hand.
- Power and humidity monitoring. A closed-up house in the summer needs its air conditioning. You hear about it the moment the AC or the power fails, and whether a standby generator started.
- A post-storm report on temperature, humidity, leaks and doors as soon as power and internet are back, so you know what to check first.
- Away mode for the off-season, with vendor access only when you allow it. Our second-home monitoring service is built around this.
The hurricane season smart home guide goes through storm prep step by step; it's written for Miami, and almost all of it applies on the Gulf side.
Houses, condos and the hub's battery
For houses, we cover the whole property: network, pool equipment, outdoor lighting and garage. For condos, we keep everything inside your unit. Either way, the hub and network go on a battery backup so alerts can still get out when the power drops, and an optional cellular backup covers the internet. Equipment that has to live outside gets coastal-rated hardware or an indoor spot where possible.
How a travel install works
Kotoh Home is based on the East End of Long Island and in Miami. We don't keep an office in Naples; we come to you. It works in three steps:
- Video walk-through. A free call where you show us the house, the network closet and the devices you already have. We agree what the assistant should handle and give you a fixed price.
- Install day. We fly in, set up the hub and your private AI, secure the network, connect your accounts and devices, and show everyone in the household how to text it.
- Care from a distance. Updates, monitoring and new routines happen remotely under your care plan. If something ever needs hands on site, we quote the trip first.
Travel is billed at cost and quoted with the project, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Private by design
Every install puts a smart-home hub in your home that runs your devices and routines locally, so they keep working when the internet doesn't. With Private Home, the AI runs on a dedicated computer in the house that you own, and your household details never leave it. With Private Cloud, it runs an open-source model on a private server we operate for you in a U.S. data center, with no conversation logs kept and nothing sent to OpenAI, Google or Amazon; the AI chat pauses during an internet outage while the hub keeps the house running. For a house that may be cut off for days after a storm, Private Home keeps the assistant working inside the house even when the internet is down. Messages travel through Apple's or Meta's encrypted networks depending on the app you use, and connected accounts like email and calendars stay with their providers. Common questions
Do you have an office in Naples?
No. Kotoh Home is based in Miami and on the East End of Long Island. For Naples we start with a video walk-through, then come over for install day, and travel is quoted at cost with your project.
Can it warn me about water in the house during a storm?
Yes. Water sensors on the lowest floor, near the water heater and by the AC air handler text you the moment they detect water, as long as the hub has power and a connection. A battery backup and an optional cellular backup help the alert get out when the power and internet fail.
What does it do while we're up north for the summer?
It watches the house: temperature, humidity, leaks, power and doors. You get a text when something needs attention and a quiet house the rest of the time, and vendors only get in when you allow it.
Will it work in a Naples condo?
Yes. We keep the setup inside your unit and on your own network. Check your association's rules before changing entry doors or anything in common areas.
What does it cost?
Private Cloud starts at $4,995, plus a $199-a-month care plan that includes your private AI server. Private Home, with a dedicated AI computer in the house that works fully offline, starts at $24,995, with care at $399 a month. Estate projects are quoted individually, and travel is quoted at cost.
