Smart Home Installation in Westchester and Greenwich, CT
Kotoh Home installs private AI home assistants and smart home systems in Westchester County and Greenwich, Connecticut, set up for big properties, tree-lined roads and the storms that take the power out for days.
Big lots, old trees and long outages
Westchester covers about 450 square miles of towns, villages and small cities north of New York City, and Greenwich, with about 63,500 residents at the 2020 census, is the largest town on Connecticut's Gold Coast. What many homes here share is space: long driveways, mature trees, a pool house or a detached garage, and often a few acres between you and the road.
Those trees are also why the lights go out. When Hurricane Sandy came through in 2012, Con Edison reported about 140,000 customers without service in Westchester alone. In August 2020, Tropical Storm Isaias left many people in New York and Connecticut without power for days, enough to prompt official investigations of the utilities. If you're traveling, or just at the office in the city, the question in a storm is simple: is the house all right?
What we set up for Westchester and Greenwich homes
- Power and generator alerts. A text when the power drops and another when it's back, plus whether your standby generator started. The hub and network sit on battery backup so the alert gets out.
- Freeze and leak protection. Temperature sensors in the coldest rooms and basement, water sensors by the water heater, boiler and laundry, and an optional automatic shutoff valve. Winter outages are when pipes freeze; our freeze, leak and power alerts guide explains how to set this up.
- The whole property, not just the house. Gates, garage doors, outdoor lighting, pool equipment and outbuildings, so "lock up and turn everything off" means everything.
- Staff and vendor access. Separate access for a house manager, housekeeper or landscaper, with limits you choose and a log of every entry. See our guide to smart homes for house managers and caretakers.
- A network that reaches the edges. Large houses and outbuildings need wired access points, not one router in the kitchen. Our network and security work covers it.
Larger homes and Estate projects
Properties with several buildings, staff or a second home elsewhere are quoted as Estate projects. One assistant can answer for all of them, so the same text covers the house in Westchester or Greenwich, an apartment in New York City and a summer place out east.
How a travel install works
Kotoh Home is based on the East End of Long Island and in Miami. We don't keep an office in Westchester or Greenwich; we come to you. It works in three steps:
- Video walk-through. A free call where you show us the house, the network closet and the devices you already have. We agree what the assistant should handle and give you a fixed price.
- Install day. We fly in, set up the hub and your private AI, secure the network, connect your accounts and devices, and show everyone in the household how to text it.
- Care from a distance. Updates, monitoring and new routines happen remotely under your care plan. If something ever needs hands on site, we quote the trip first.
Travel is billed at cost and quoted with the project, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Private by design
Every install puts a smart-home hub in your home that runs your devices and routines locally, so they keep working when the internet doesn't. With Private Home, the AI runs on a dedicated computer in the house that you own, and your household details never leave it. With Private Cloud, it runs an open-source model on a private server we operate for you in a U.S. data center, with no conversation logs kept and nothing sent to OpenAI, Google or Amazon; the AI chat pauses during an internet outage while the hub keeps the house running. If you want the assistant itself to keep working through an outage, Private Home with battery backup is the better fit. Messages travel through Apple's or Meta's encrypted networks depending on the app you use, and connected accounts like email and calendars stay with their providers. More in our guide to local vs cloud AI assistants.

Common questions
Do you have an office in Westchester or Greenwich?
No. We're based on the East End of Long Island and in Miami. We start with a video walk-through, then travel in for install day, and the trip is quoted at cost with your project.
Will it tell me if the power goes out while I'm away?
Yes. The hub and your network can run on a battery backup long enough to send the alert, and if you have a standby generator we connect its status so you know whether it started. An optional cellular backup keeps alerts reaching you if the internet goes down with the power.
Can you cover a large property with outbuildings?
Yes. Pool houses, garages, guest cottages and gates can all be part of one system. Larger or multi-building properties are quoted as Estate projects.
Can staff have access without seeing everything?
Yes. House managers, caretakers and housekeepers can get their own access with limits you set, and each entry is logged to your messages.
What does it cost?
Private Cloud starts at $4,995, plus a $199-a-month care plan that includes your private AI server. Private Home, with a dedicated AI computer in the house that works fully offline, starts at $24,995, with care at $399 a month. Estate projects are quoted individually, and travel is quoted at cost.
