Private AI Home Assistant Installation in Abu Dhabi

Kotoh Home installs private AI home assistants in Abu Dhabi for Estate projects. We plan for July and August heat, summer sandstorms and the occasional extreme rain, and work with a locally licensed installer where local rules require it.

For Estate projects in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the UAE's capital and its second most populous city, with an urban area of about 2.5 million people in 2023. The city itself sits on a T-shaped island reaching into the Persian Gulf, with much of the emirate on the mainland. We take on Abu Dhabi installs as Estate projects: villas, large apartments, multiple properties or households with staff. We don't have an office in the UAE. We start with a video walk-through, design and configure the system, and travel for commissioning.

Heat, humidity and the heat index

Abu Dhabi has a hot desert climate. May to September is generally extremely hot and humid, and in July and August the average daily maximum is above 40°C (104°F). Near the coast the humidity pushes the heat index, the feels-like temperature, well above the air temperature. For a house, that means cooling failures matter fast, and condensation can show up where you don't expect it.

We give every zone its own temperature and humidity sensor and connect the thermostats or building controls where we can. The assistant learns each room's normal range and texts you or your house manager when a room starts warming, humidity rises in storage or wardrobes, or a unit goes quiet. If the house is closed for summer, you can ask it for a daily one-line report instead of checking in.

Sandstorms

During the peak summer months, sandstorms occur intermittently, sometimes reducing visibility to a few metres. A sandstorm routine can close motorized shades and windows, switch cooling to recirculate where the equipment supports it, pause pool equipment, and remind staff to check filters and terraces once it clears. You can trigger it with a text, or it can follow the weather alerts you choose.

When it does rain

Rain is rare but can be extreme. In April 2024 the UAE recorded its heaviest 24-hour rainfall since records began in 1949; the highest total, 254.8 mm (10.03 in), fell at Khatm Al Shakla in Al Ain, in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and flooding was reported in all seven emirates. Water sensors at doors, terraces, plant rooms and under sinks, with an automatic shutoff valve where the plumbing allows, mean a storm like that reaches you as a text.

Built to UAE standards

UAE homes use 230-volt, 50 Hz power and BS 1363 (Type G) sockets, and Z-Wave devices for the UAE use the 868 MHz band. We specify equipment made for the region. We design, configure and commission the system; where local rules require it, the physical installation and any electrical work are done by a locally licensed installer or electrician to our specification. Work-visa and permit requirements are confirmed before we quote.

What we set up

  • A private assistant you text from iMessage or WhatsApp, connected to your calendars, email and the house.
  • Cooling and humidity monitoring for every zone.
  • Sandstorm and storm routines for shades, windows, cooling and pool equipment.
  • Staff and guest access with a log of who did what.
  • A separate, hardened network for smart devices.

Where your data lives

Every install puts a smart-home hub in the house, running devices and routines locally. For Abu Dhabi clients we generally recommend Private Home: the AI runs on a dedicated computer in your home, and nothing goes to a cloud AI service. Private Cloud uses a private server in a U.S. data center. If your data needs to stay in the UAE, choose Private Home. We don't advise on data protection rules.

Pricing

Abu Dhabi projects are Estate projects, quoted individually in U.S. dollars after the walk-through, with travel included. For reference, Private Home starts at $24,995 for a single home, with care at $399 a month. Read about Estate projects and how we keep the network secure.

Common questions

Do you work in Abu Dhabi?

Yes, for Estate projects. After a video walk-through we design and configure the system and travel for commissioning. Where local rules require it, a locally licensed installer or electrician does the physical work to our specification, and work-visa and permit requirements are confirmed before we quote.

What power and radio standards do you use?

The UAE uses 230-volt, 50 Hz power with BS 1363 (Type G) sockets, and Z-Wave devices for the UAE use the 868 MHz band. We specify devices sold for the region rather than bringing US equipment.

Can it help during a sandstorm?

Yes. A sandstorm routine can close motorized shades and windows, switch the cooling to recirculate where your system supports it, and remind staff to check filters afterwards.

Can it cover a villa on the island and a home elsewhere?

An Estate project can cover multiple properties. We plan how each home's hub works and how one assistant reaches them during the walk-through.

Can my data stay in the UAE?

With Private Home, the AI runs on a computer in your house, so your household's requests are processed there. Private Cloud uses a server in a U.S. data center. If keeping data in the UAE matters to you, we recommend Private Home. We don't give legal advice on data rules; your own advisers can.
