Private AI Home Assistant Installation in Dubai
Kotoh Home installs private AI home assistants in Dubai for Estate projects. We design for a city where the air conditioning carries the house for half the year, and we coordinate the physical work with a locally licensed installer where the rules require it.
For Estate projects in Dubai
We take on Dubai installs as Estate projects: villas, large apartments, multiple homes or households with staff. Many of the people who ask split the year between Dubai and somewhere else, which is exactly when a private assistant earns its keep. We don't have a Dubai office. We do a video walk-through, design and configure the system, and travel for commissioning.
A house that depends on its cooling
Dubai's summer runs roughly from late April to early October. Temperatures regularly pass 38°C (100°F) and fall only to around 26°C (79°F) overnight, and the city's highest recorded temperature is 50.1°C (122°F), reached in July 2023. Because Dubai sits on the coast, summer humidity is high too. In that climate the air conditioning is the most important system in the house, and a failure in an empty home can mean heat and moisture damage within days.
So the core of a Dubai install is watching the cooling. We put temperature and humidity sensors in each zone and connect the thermostats or building controls where that's possible. The assistant knows what normal looks like for each room and texts you, or your house manager, when something drifts: a bedroom warming in the afternoon, humidity climbing in a closed wardrobe, a unit that stops responding.
Dust, wind and the rare cloudburst
Summer winds known as the Shamal blow in from the north-west and bring frequent dust storms. A routine can close motorized shades and alert you to check filters after a heavy dust day. Rain is rare, but it can be extreme: on 16 April 2024 a record rainstorm dropped 164 mm (6.45 in) on Dubai International Airport, where 1,244 flights were cancelled over two days, and flooding was reported across all seven emirates. Water sensors by doors, terraces, plant rooms and under sinks, plus an automatic shutoff valve where the plumbing allows, turn a once-in-years event into a text rather than a surprise.
Villas and towers
Dubai has one of the world's densest skylines, including the Burj Khalifa, and a large luxury property market of villas and apartments. In a tower apartment, most of what we install is wireless and stays inside your unit; anything that touches shared systems is agreed with building management first. In a villa we cover the whole property, from the gate and garage to pool equipment and the staff entrance.
Built to UAE standards
UAE homes use 230-volt, 50 Hz power and BS 1363 (Type G) sockets, and Z-Wave devices for the UAE operate in the 868 MHz band, not the US frequencies. We specify hubs, sensors, thermostats and lighting control sold for the region. We design, configure and commission the system; where local rules require it, the physical installation and any electrical work are done by a locally licensed installer or electrician working to our specification. Work-visa and permit requirements are confirmed before we quote.
What we set up
- A private assistant you text from iMessage or WhatsApp, connected to your calendars, email and the house.
- Cooling and humidity watch for every zone, with alerts while you're away.
- Leak detection with an automatic water shutoff where the plumbing allows.
- Staff and guest access for house managers, drivers and housekeepers, limited to what each person needs.
- A hardened network with smart devices kept apart from your computers.
Where your data lives
Every install puts a smart-home hub in the house, running devices and routines locally. For Dubai clients we generally recommend Private Home: the AI runs on a dedicated computer in your home, so your household's requests are processed there. Private Cloud, our lower-cost tier, uses a private server in a U.S. data center. If your data needs to stay in the UAE, choose Private Home. We don't advise on data protection rules; your own advisers can.
Pricing
Dubai projects are Estate projects, quoted individually in U.S. dollars after the walk-through, with travel included. For reference, Private Home starts at $24,995 for a single home, with care at $399 a month. See estates and house managers for what an Estate project covers, or second-home monitoring if the house sits empty for part of the year.
To begin, request a video walk-through on our contact form or email hello@kotohhome.com. We reply within one business day.
Common questions
Do you work in Dubai?
Yes, for Estate projects. We start with a video walk-through, design and configure the system, then travel for commissioning. Where local rules require it, the physical installation and electrical work are done by a locally licensed installer or electrician working to our specification. Work-visa and permit requirements are confirmed before we quote.
Will US devices work in the UAE?
No, and we don't use them. UAE homes run on 230-volt, 50 Hz power with BS 1363 (Type G) sockets, and Z-Wave devices sold for the UAE use the 868 MHz band rather than the US frequencies. We specify equipment made for this region.
Can it watch the cooling while we're away for the summer?
Yes. Temperature and humidity sensors in each zone report to the hub, and the assistant texts you or your house manager if a room starts warming, the humidity climbs, or a unit stops responding.
Does it work in a tower apartment?
Yes. Most of what we install in apartments is wireless and goes inside the unit. Building rules for any changes to shared systems are checked with your building management before we design around them.
Can my data stay in the UAE?
With Private Home, the AI runs on a computer in your house, so your household's requests are processed there. Private Cloud uses a server in a U.S. data center. If keeping data in the UAE matters to you, we recommend Private Home. We don't give legal advice on data rules; your own advisers can.
