Private AI Home Assistant and Smart Home Setup in Denver
Kotoh Home sets up a private AI home assistant for Denver homes remotely, tuned for hail, sudden temperature swings and the mountain place you're not always at.
Weather that changes fast
Denver sits on the High Plains at the foot of the Rockies, and the weather can change in hours. In winter, cold snaps alternate with mild spells brought by Chinook winds: some days reach the 60s, others never get above freezing, and on the coldest nights it can fall below −10°F. The city hit −24°F on December 22, 2022. Measurable snow usually falls between mid-October and late April but has come as early as September 4. Summer brings afternoon thunderstorms and hail: Denver ranks among the most hail-prone large cities in the country and has had three of the ten costliest hailstorms in U.S. history, in 1990, 2009 and 2017.
What the assistant does for a Denver home
- Hail warnings with a plan. It can relay National Weather Service warnings and run a routine you choose: reminder to get the car inside, smart awnings retracted, shades closed.
- Freeze swings. A sudden drop after a mild spell is hard on pipes in exterior walls and garages. Temperature sensors text you when a spot heads toward freezing.
- Leaks and sprinklers. Leak sensors catch a burst pipe, and an early-autumn freeze reminder helps you get irrigation blown out in time.
- Daily life. Calendars, reminders and "warm the house before we're back from the mountains" by text.
The house in the mountains
If you also have a place in the mountains, that's often where the expensive surprises happen: a furnace that quits in January or a pipe that freezes while nobody is there. The same assistant can watch both homes in one conversation, and a caretaker can get limited access to the cabin's alerts. If your second home is in Aspen, we also do travel installs there; see our Aspen page. Second-home monitoring explains the alerts we set up.
Two checklists worth setting up
Before hail season (late spring and summer): decide what "hail warning" should do. Typical choices are a text to everyone with a car outside, smart awnings and patio shades retracted, and a reminder to bring in anything loose. Add a camera view of the driveway so you can check afterward without going out.
Before the first freeze (it can come in September): put temperature sensors in the garage, crawl space and along exterior walls, set a freeze threshold that texts you, and add a reminder to drain hose bibs and blow out irrigation lines. If the house will sit empty for a week, the assistant can keep the heat at a safe minimum and only message you if a room drops below it. Both checklists take a few minutes to set up on the remote call, and you can change them any time by text.
Remote setup in Denver
It starts with a free video walk-through and a fixed price. We ship a hub configured for your home; you plug it into your router, and we finish over video: calendars, email, your compatible devices, texting for each person and your routines. New devices that need wiring or plumbing can be installed by your own tradespeople to our spec, or as a travel install we quote.
Picking an option
Private Cloud, from $4,995, keeps the house running on the local hub, with the AI on an open-source model on a private server we operate in a U.S. data center and no conversation logs. Private Home, from $24,995, puts the AI on a computer in your house so it keeps working offline. For multiple homes or staff, Estate projects are quoted individually.

Common questions
Can it warn me about hail?
It can relay National Weather Service warnings and run a routine you choose, like reminding you to pull the car into the garage, retracting smart awnings and closing shades. It can't stop hail, but it helps you use the minutes you have.
Can one assistant watch my Denver house and a mountain cabin?
Yes. With an Estate setup, or Private Cloud at each house, you get alerts from both in one conversation, and limited access for a caretaker at the cabin.
Do you install in Denver?
Private Cloud is set up remotely: we ship a pre-configured hub and finish setup with you over video. Private Home, Estate and devices you want us to install are quoted as a travel install.
What does it cost?
Private Cloud starts at $4,995 plus a $199-a-month care plan that includes your private AI server. Private Home starts at $24,995 plus travel, with care at $399 a month. Estate projects are quoted individually.
