Private AI Home Assistant Installation in Geneva

Kotoh Home installs private AI home assistants in Geneva for Estate projects: lakeside homes, city apartments, and a mountain chalet on the same system if you have one. We design and configure everything, then fly in to commission it.

For Estate projects in Geneva

We take on Geneva homes as Estate projects: houses along the lake, large apartments in the city, and the second and third homes that often come with them. We don't have an office in Switzerland. We do a video walk-through, design and configure the system before we travel, and fly in to commission it. Where local rules require it, the physical installation and any electrical work are done by a locally licensed electrician working to our specification, and we confirm work-permit requirements before we quote.

Built to Swiss standards

Switzerland uses 230-volt, 50 Hz power, and Swiss homes use their own Type J socket alongside Type C. We specify hubs, sensors, thermostats and lighting control sold for the Swiss market, and Z-Wave devices on the European 868 MHz band. Nothing is carried over from a US home.

Lakeside winters and the bise

Geneva sits at the western end of Lake Geneva, which at about 580 square kilometers is one of the largest lakes in Western Europe and is shared with France. The climate is temperate, with cool winters and warm summers, but the lake brings one local hazard: the bise, a cold north-easterly wind that can cause severe icing near the shore in winter. For a lakeside house, that means the things worth automating are the things wind and ice break:

  • Temperature sensors in the rooms and spaces that get coldest first, with an alert if any of them falls toward freezing.
  • Leak detection with an automatic shutoff valve, because a burst pipe in an empty house does the most damage.
  • Power and heating alerts, so you know at once if the boiler or heat pump stops.
  • Shade and awning routines that retract exterior shades before strong wind, where your shades support it.

A Geneva home and a chalet, on one system

If you also keep a chalet in the Alps, it may sit empty for weeks at a time and be harder to reach in winter. An Estate project can put both on one assistant. Each property gets its own hub that keeps running locally, and you text one assistant: "Is the chalet warm?" "Turn the heat up at the chalet for Friday." Freeze, leak and power alerts work the same way in both places, and a caretaker can be given access to the chalet alone.

What we set up

  • A private assistant you text from iMessage or WhatsApp, connected to your calendars, email and every property.
  • Heating, leaks and security, with alerts when a home is empty.
  • Staff and guest access for house managers and caretakers, limited and logged.
  • A hardened network at each property, with smart devices kept apart from your computers.

How a Geneva project runs

  1. Video walk-through of each property, your devices and how the household runs.
  2. Design and quote: Swiss-market equipment, the network and any electrical work, with permits confirmed and travel included.
  3. Preparation: any wiring by a locally licensed electrician to our spec.
  4. Commissioning visit: hubs, AI computer and networks set up, devices and accounts connected, household and staff trained.
  5. Care: updates, monitoring and new routines remotely under your care plan.

Where your data lives

Every install puts a smart-home hub in the home, running your devices and routines locally. For Geneva clients we recommend Private Home: the AI runs on a dedicated computer in your house, so your household's requests are processed there and nothing goes to a cloud AI service. Private Cloud, our lower-cost tier, uses a private server in a U.S. data center. If your data needs to stay in Switzerland, choose Private Home. We don't advise on data protection rules.

Pricing

Geneva projects are Estate projects, quoted individually in U.S. dollars after the walk-through, with travel included in the quote. For reference, Private Home starts at $24,995 for a single home, with care at $399 a month. See estates and house managers for what an Estate project covers.

To begin, request a video walk-through on our contact form or email hello@kotohhome.com. We reply within one business day.

Common questions

Do you work in Geneva?

Yes, for Estate projects. We start with a video walk-through, design and configure the system, then travel to Geneva to commission it. Where local rules require it, the physical installation and electrical work are done by a locally licensed electrician to our specification. Travel is quoted with the project, in U.S. dollars.

Will the devices work in Switzerland?

Switzerland runs on 230-volt, 50 Hz power with Type C and the Swiss Type J sockets, so we specify devices sold for the Swiss market, including Z-Wave models on the European 868 MHz band.

Can one assistant cover a Geneva home and a chalet?

Yes. An Estate project can cover several properties. Each home gets its own hub that keeps running locally, and you text one assistant about all of them.

What happens in a winter storm?

The hub runs your heating, sensors and routines locally even if the internet drops. Freeze and leak alerts reach you as soon as the connection returns, or immediately with an optional cellular backup.

Can my data stay in Switzerland?

With Private Home, the AI runs on a computer in your house, so your household's requests are processed there. Private Cloud uses a server in a U.S. data center. If keeping data in Switzerland matters to you, we recommend Private Home. We don't give legal advice on data rules.
