Private AI Home Assistant Installation in Zurich
Kotoh Home installs private AI home assistants in Zurich for Estate projects, from villas on the lake's Gold Coast to city apartments. We design and configure the system, then fly in to commission it.
For Estate projects in Zurich
We take on Zurich homes as Estate projects: lakeside villas, large city apartments and households with staff, often alongside homes in other countries. We don't have an office in Switzerland. We do a video walk-through, design and configure the system before we travel, and fly in to commission it. Where local rules require it, the physical installation and any electrical work are done by a locally licensed electrician working to our specification, and we confirm work-permit requirements before we quote.
Built to Swiss standards
Zurich homes run on 230-volt, 50 Hz power with Type C and Swiss Type J sockets. We specify equipment sold for the Swiss market, and Z-Wave devices on Europe's 868 MHz band, so every device is legal to operate and fits the wall it goes on.
Lake Zurich and the Gold Coast
Zurich is Switzerland's largest city, at the northern end of Lake Zurich, a lake about 40 kilometers long. The towns along the eastern shore of the lower lake are known as the Goldküste, or Gold Coast. A lakeside villa brings its own list: boathouses and garden buildings that need their own network coverage, water features and pumps that need watching, terraces and large glazing that benefit from automated shades, and gates and garages that should only open for the right people. We design the network first, so every corner of the property is covered, then build the routines on top.
Bise, Foehn and four real seasons
Zurich has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons, shaped by three winds: westerlies that bring rain, the bise, a cold east or north-east wind that brings cooler spells, and the Foehn, the warm, dry wind from the Alps that can swing the weather quickly. A house that responds to the weather is more comfortable and cheaper to run. The assistant can:
- Adjust heating ahead of a cold spell and back down when the sun comes out.
- Close exterior shades in strong sun or wind, where your shades support it.
- Tell you about an open window when the temperature drops or rain starts.
- Warn you about a freeze in a garage, pool house or empty home.
Households with staff and a family office
Larger Zurich households often run through a house manager, a family office or both. The assistant fits that structure. A house manager can check the day's schedule, let in deliveries and see sensor alerts without access to your email or calendar. Guests get time-limited door codes. Everything is logged, so you can see who opened what and when.
What we set up
- A private assistant you text from iMessage or WhatsApp, connected to your calendars, email and the house.
- Heating, shades, leaks and security, with alerts when the home is empty.
- Staff, family office and guest access, limited and logged.
- A hardened network covering the whole property, with smart devices kept apart from your computers.
Where your data lives
Every install puts a smart-home hub in the home, running your devices and routines locally. For Zurich clients we recommend Private Home: the AI runs on a dedicated computer in your house, so your household's requests are processed there. Private Cloud, our lower-cost tier, uses a private server in a U.S. data center. If your data needs to stay in Switzerland, choose Private Home. We don't advise on data protection rules.
Pricing
Zurich projects are Estate projects, quoted individually in U.S. dollars after the walk-through, with travel included in the quote. For reference, Private Home starts at $24,995 for a single home, with care at $399 a month. See estates and house managers for what an Estate project covers.
To begin, request a video walk-through on our contact form or email hello@kotohhome.com. We reply within one business day.
Common questions
Do you work in Zurich?
Yes, for Estate projects. We start with a video walk-through, design and configure the system, then travel to Zurich to commission it. Where local rules require it, the physical installation and electrical work are done by a locally licensed electrician to our specification. Travel is quoted with the project, in U.S. dollars.
Will the devices work in Switzerland?
Switzerland uses 230-volt, 50 Hz power with Type C and Swiss Type J sockets. We specify Swiss-market devices, and Z-Wave models on the European 868 MHz band rather than US versions.
Can a family office or house manager use it?
Yes. Each person gets their own access, limited to what they need: a house manager can see schedules and let in deliveries without seeing your email, and every action is logged.
Does it handle the weather swings?
Yes. Routines can respond to temperature, wind and sunlight: closing shades, adjusting heating and alerting you if a room drops too cold or a window is left open.
Can my data stay in Switzerland?
With Private Home, the AI runs on a computer in your house, so your household's requests are processed there. Private Cloud uses a server in a U.S. data center. If keeping data in Switzerland matters to you, we recommend Private Home. We don't give legal advice on data rules.
