Private AI Home Assistant Installation in Monaco
Kotoh Home installs private AI home assistants in Monaco for Estate projects, mostly apartments in the principality's towers and residences their owners don't live in year-round. We design and configure the system, then fly in to commission it.
For Estate projects in Monaco
We take on Monaco homes as Estate projects. Many of the people who ask keep Monaco as one of several homes, and want one assistant that knows the apartment, the house in the Hamptons or Miami and the household that moves between them. We don't have an office in Monaco. We do a video walk-through, design and configure the system before we travel, and fly in to commission it. Where local rules require it, the physical installation and any electrical work are done by a locally licensed electrician working to our specification, and we confirm work-permit and visa requirements before we quote.
Built to local standards
Monaco uses 230-volt, 50 Hz power with the same Type C and Type E sockets as France, so we specify European-market hubs, sensors, lighting and climate controls. Z-Wave devices sold in Europe use the 868 MHz band, different from US models, so nothing is carried over from an American home.
Apartment living in the world's densest country
Monaco fits about 38,000 residents into just over 2 square kilometers, making it the most densely populated sovereign state in the world, and it has been adding land by reclaiming it from the sea. Most homes are apartments, many of them in the high-rises of districts like La Rousse and Saint Roman. That shapes the system in three ways.
- Water is everyone's problem. A leak in a tower apartment reaches the neighbors below. Sensors under sinks, appliances and water heaters, with an automatic shutoff valve, are the first thing we specify.
- The building has rules. We keep the work inside your apartment and wireless wherever possible. Anything touching common parts, wiring risers or the facade needs the building's approval first.
- Access runs through people. Concierges, building staff and house managers come and go. Each person gets access limited to what they need, and every unlock is logged.
A home you're not always in
Fewer than 10,000 of Monaco's residents are Monégasque nationals; many residents come from elsewhere, and some divide the year between several homes. If Monaco is one of yours, the assistant keeps an eye on the apartment while you're away. Monaco's climate is mild, with sea breezes that keep summer afternoons above 30°C rare, but a closed apartment still needs watching: humidity in shuttered rooms, an air conditioner left running, a door that didn't latch. Before you arrive, text the assistant and it can open the shades, set the temperature and have the lights on.
What we set up
- A private assistant you text from iMessage or WhatsApp, connected to your calendars, email and the home.
- Leaks, climate and security: water sensors with shutoff, climate and humidity control, door sensors and camera alerts.
- Staff and guest access, limited and logged.
- A hardened network with smart devices kept apart from your computers.
How a Monaco project runs
- Video walk-through of the apartment, your devices, the network and how the household runs.
- Design and quote: European-market equipment, the network and any electrical work, with permit and visa requirements confirmed and travel included.
- Preparation: any wiring by a locally licensed electrician to our spec, after building approval where needed.
- Commissioning visit: hub, AI computer and network set up, devices and accounts connected, household and staff trained.
- Care: updates, monitoring and new routines remotely under your care plan.
Where your data lives
Every install puts a smart-home hub in the home, running your devices and routines locally. For Monaco clients we recommend Private Home: the AI runs on a dedicated computer in your apartment, so your household's requests are processed there. Private Cloud, our lower-cost tier, uses a private server in a U.S. data center. If your data needs to stay local, choose Private Home. We don't advise on data protection rules.
Pricing
Monaco projects are Estate projects, quoted individually in U.S. dollars after the walk-through, with travel included in the quote. For reference, Private Home starts at $24,995 for a single home, with care at $399 a month. See estates and house managers for what an Estate project covers.
To begin, request a video walk-through on our contact form or email hello@kotohhome.com. We reply within one business day.
Common questions
Do you work in Monaco?
Yes, for Estate projects. We start with a video walk-through, design and configure the system, then travel to Monaco to commission it. Where local rules require it, the physical installation and electrical work are done by a locally licensed electrician to our specification. Travel is quoted with the project, in U.S. dollars.
Will the devices work in Monaco?
Monaco runs on 230-volt, 50 Hz power with Type C and Type E sockets, as in France. We specify European-market devices, including Z-Wave models on the European 868 MHz band rather than US versions.
Can you work in an apartment building?
Yes. Most of what we install is wireless and sits inside your apartment. Anything that touches the building's common parts, wiring risers or facade needs the building's approval, so check with your building management first; we design around their answer.
Can it watch the apartment while I'm away?
Yes. Water sensors with automatic shutoff, humidity and temperature monitoring, door sensors and camera alerts let you know about a problem the moment it starts, and staff access lets your concierge or house manager deal with it.
Can my data stay in Monaco?
With Private Home, the AI runs on a computer in your apartment, so your household's requests are processed there. Private Cloud uses a server in a U.S. data center. If keeping data local matters to you, we recommend Private Home. We don't give legal advice on data rules.
